How To Make Lavender Coconut Bath Salts

Clean Beauty, Lifestyle

A nice hot bath can be much needed sometimes and I’m going to show you how to make lavender coconut bath salts that will add the perfect touch to your bath. The epsom salt in it will help you detox and the coconut oil will help moisturize your skin. The lavender essential oils are nice and calming and a great stress reliever.

Why You Should Use Essential Oils Instead Of Products Full Of Synthetic Fragrance:

In the United States, manufacturers are legally allowed to label thousands of synthetic chemicals under one word, “fragrance”. Included in this broad term are ingredients such as phthalates, benzene derivatives, and aldehydes. These chemicals absorb into your skin and go directly into your bloodstream. They can disrupt your hormones, lower your sperm count, trigger asthma and be a neurotoxin & carcinogen.

How To Eliminate Synthetic Fragrance:

It can be expensive to get rid of every product in your home with synthetic fragrance and replace it all at once. What you could do is once you finish up a product, replace it with one that doesn’t use fragrances in it. Or even better, make your own cleaning products at home using natural ingredients. You will be surprised how much money you can save. To add a nice smell to your homemade cleaning products you can add essential oils.

After slowly eliminating products in my home that include synthetic fragrances I feel so much better knowing that I’m protecting my family and myself. Once we fully transitioned a few years ago it is so surprising how strong fragrances are to us now. Walking into certain stores or passing by the cleaning supplies isle makes my nose so overwhelmed. It is hard to believe I use to use Tide with added scented fabric softeners, fragrance beads, and scented dryer sheets! At the time I could barely smell all of those fragrances because I was so use to it.

I enjoy when my house smells nice so I like to diffuse essential oils in my Young Living diffuser. They have so many health benefits and you can change up the scent everyday. In the morning I like to diffuse a citrus of some kind since they are so light and refreshing. In the evening, or if I’m feeling more stressed than usual I will diffuse lavender. I need to make another order because I cleared out all my Young Living essential oils about a week ago!

Easter is right around the corner. Have you started thinking of gifts for your kiddos yet? I’ll be sharing what I put in my kids baskets soon, so stay tuned! Thank you for reading and let me know if you have tried this DIY in the comments below!
