There are so many different cleaning products for each section of your home which can feel overwhelming, but I’m going to share with you my must have minimalist cleaning essentials that are non-toxic.

“Clean” shouldn’t have a smell. It’s weird to think about but we are so use to our home smelling a certain way after cleaning it. Cleaning products filled with fragrances that can overwhelm your nose and breathing in all those carcinogens is not good for your body.
Using essential oils in your own DIY cleaning products is a great way to add a nice scent without breathing in synthetic fragrances. Lemon essential oils is a great one that breaks down grease and grime while also removing stains.

Microfiber Cloths
These are what I use in place of paper towels and what I use for any surface cleaning and dusting. I use them on our kitchen counters, windows, glass, shelves, wood, and bathrooms. They are also great to use on your little ones hands after they are done eating. The ones I use can be found HERE.
Castile Soap
This is our holy grail product that I love so much. We use it as our body wash and our DIY hand soap. You can use it in your DIY all purpose spray and even wash your fruits and veggies with it. I use it to clean my makeup brushes as well. It is a great staple that I will always keep in my home. The directions for all the different uses are right on the bottle as well.
All Purpose Spray With Castile Soap Recipe
Add 1/4 cup castile soap to 1qt. water in spray bottle. The castile soap I use can be found HERE.

Baking Soda
This is my go to when I need to use some elbow grease. I sprinkle it all in the sink and use a plant based sponge with a little warm water and it works wonders. This combo also works great for cleaning the oven. I create a paste with the baking soda and spread it on the trouble areas. Let it sit for 20 minutes and exfoliate with a scrubber and it’s good to go.

Vinegar
I’m sure your grandma use to use this in her home, and for good reason. It’s a pantry staple that is naturally a disinfectant that can kill bacteria, viruses, and mold. Dilute it with water in a spray bottle and use it on you surfaces with a microfiber cloth.
Thieves Cleaner
This Thieves concentrate is absolutely at the top of the list for my must have minimalist cleaning essentials. It’s a non-toxic product that is made from plant based ingredients and infused with powerful essential oils. It is my go to for any surface cleaning that I need to do. You can use it on carpets, floors, counters, glass, walls, and mirrors. Since it’s a concentrate you add one cap to two cups of water. This bottle has lasted me over a year!

Shark Floor Steamer
Wow… I thought my floors were getting clean with my normal mop until I used my steamer. After purchasing one a few months ago I was disturbed by how nasty the cleaning pad was after using it. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to get one. The awesome part is you only have to add water to it and is kills 99.9 percent of bacteria with no cleaning products needed! Find the one I have HERE. I had one years ago but it broke from not using filtered water so make sure you follow the directions!
